O'Hare is the northwestern end of the Blue Line, 17 miles from the Loop, a subway station under the parking garage for Terminals 1, 2 and 3. It opened September 3, 1984 to a design by Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn: a column-free platform, walls of backlit wavy glass block, and a mezzanine shaped like an airplane fuselage. Three tracks, no parking, 3.3 million entries in 2025, and trains all day and all night.

The residential areas are zoned to Dirksen School for K-8 and Taft High School; Wright College in Dunning is the nearest City Colleges campus, and DePaul has a satellite campus here.
